What To Expect
Urgent Care
Some problems may not be emergencies, but they do need to be addressed promptly. We reserve same-day sick appointment slots for urgent issues like:
- Eye and ear problems
- Coughing, sneezing and other respiratory symptoms
- Gastrointestinal upset, including acute vomiting, diarrhea or constipation
- Changes in urination, including straining, increased frequency and change in urine appearance
- Minor wounds
Chronic Disease Management
Caring for a cat with a chronic health condition can be overwhelming. We can help you manage your cat’s illness—as well as any pain it may cause—and discuss treatment options.
Common chronic diseases in cats include:
- Kidney disease
- Hyperthyroidism
- Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD)
- Diabetes
- Cancer
- Urinary tract disease
- Osteoarthritis
Diagnostic Testing
After a thorough examination of your cat, we may recommend diagnostic testing. Testing can be used to make or confirm a diagnosis, estimate the severity of a disease, and determine your cat’s prognosis. Test results also guide us in the selection of appropriate treatments to make sure your cat recovers as quickly as possible and with fewer complications.
Diagnostic tests we offer include:
- Blood and urine testing
- Parasite detection
- X-rays
- Ultrasounds performed by a board certified radiologist in the comfort of our office
- Skin, ear and eye testing
- Microscopic analysis of lumps/masses
